Song Yun was a Northern Wei envoy who traveled to the Western Regions to seek scriptures with Huisheng and others.

宋云是北魏赴西域求经的使者，与惠生等人同行。
Song Yun and Huisheng, with others, traveled to the Western Regions to seek scriptures in the early sixth century. Materials on the journey, return of scripture rolls, and observations along the way were later preserved through Yang Xuanzhi's incorporation into Luoyang Qielan Ji. The mission action, original travel records, and later compilation each had participants, and the surviving narrative also carries period and religious perspectives.
